About Us

The Peterborough Photographic Society thanks you for your interest!

The Society was formed in 1982 by a group of amateur photographers interested in developing their photographic skills with an opportunity to enjoy the fellowship and support of people with similar interests. These objectives continue to guide the club. Our members have diverse backgrounds varying from beginner to professional, use a variety of equipment and are happy to share their expertise with other members. Photographic interests include wildlife, family, street scenes, architecture, vehicles, still life, sunsets, contemporary, nature, landscapes and much more.

Meetings are normally held at the Peterborough Lions Community Centre (347 Burnham St., Peterborough). Occasionally, we may elect to hold an online through Zoom, usually to present a remote speaker. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from September through June. Our online meetings open for socializing at 6:30 pm, start at 7:00 pm and end by 9:30 pm.

Our newsletter, The Viewfinder, is published once a month and is posted to this site about one week before the next meeting. The Viewfinder includes the latest news regarding meetings, outings and other activities, as well as various articles of interest to the members and anyone else with an interest in photography.

Guests are invited to attend two meetings at no cost, after which you are welcome to join the PPS. To become a guest at an upcoming meeting, or to become a member, please contact the Membership Director.
